Not Just Bars
When you think of Clif Bar,
the first things that come to mind are energy bars and gels. But now Clif Bar’s
name is tied to yet another product: wine.
As Clif Bar owners Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford have focused on creating all-natural and organic energy foods, the same philosophy is going into their wine. The couple founded the Clif Bar Family Winery in 2004 with a focus on sustainably farmed and organic grapes. Now their wines are finally available across the country.
Says winemaker Sarah Gott, “Like Gary and Kit, my goals is to over deliver when it comes to putting high-quality wine in the bottle. In the past few years, I have begun working with organically certified growers to source fruit…and being able to support farmers that are making the transition to organic and sustainable farming practices is the right thing to do.”
The collection of wines includes
Climber White Wine, Climber Red Wine, Gary’s Improv Napa Valley Zinfandel and
kit’s killer cab Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. For more on the wines and
