While Texas is not universally known for its water sports, it does have lots of lakes and rivers – not to mention one of the longest and best coastlines in the United States. Two of the most popular destinations for those interested in water sports are Corpus Christi and South Padre Island. These two southern coastal cities have become water sports Meccas for those visiting or vacationing in Texas. One of the most popular aquatic sports, which has taken off in the past few years in these coastal towns, is kiteboarding.

Jason Lester was in a terrible accident as a child, which left his right arm paralyzed. His father died shortly after the accident, and Jason turned to sport as a way to cope. Today, he is a multiple Ironman finisher, founder of the Never Stop Foundation, and an international inspiration.

USA Track & Field will heighten anti-doping education initiatives at its three youth national championships in 2008 and will begin in-competition drug testing at the 2009 championship events. The programs are a partnership with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency and are tied to USATF's Zero Tolerance anti-doping initiative and Win With Integrity youth outreach program.
